Tom Hunt

Advisory Board

As professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Tom Hunt currently investigates carbon sequestration in grazing and tillage systems. Prior to his retirement, Hunt served as the director of programs in Reclamation, Environment and Conservation; Research and Outreach at Pioneer Farm; and Social and Environmental Justice at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Additionally, Hunt has experience in policy development, project management, systems science, restoration ecology, soil and water conservation, land planning and design, regulatory permitting and enforcement, geomorphic mine reclamation, habitat management, environmental monitoring, resource inventory, and economic analysis.

Hunt holds a PhD in Land Resources Management, a master’s degree in Landscape-scale Ecological Restoration, and a bachelor’s degree in B.S., Soil Science, Classification, Morphology, and Mapping from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
