Bern Hoffmann serves as the secretariat for Working-Lands Soil & Water where he facilitates and coordinates the development and codification of administrative and operational systems.

Over the last 12 years, Hoffmann’s work at the Director of Sustainability at The Potomac School was marked by leading successful collaborative efforts that resulted in the creation of multiple resources conservation initiatives in operations, as well as new environmental curriculum across K-12 grade levels.

More recently, Hoffmann has worked as a capacity development consultant domestically for Resilient Virginia and the International Finance Corporation, as well as internationally on behalf of Virginia Tech’s Center Leadership in Global Sustainability.

Hoffmann holds a master’s degree in Teaching from Rollins College, a master’s degree in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Connecticut College.
